5. Memphis Tigers

Coming in at number five are the Memphis Tigers, who 247Sports ranks as the second most-likely landing spot for Brown. Penny Hardaway has been a master at recruiting in his two seasons at Memphis, but where things stand at the moment, it has turned into little success on the court.

Pros

At Memphis, Brown would be the center of the offense. Despite his developing offensive game, Brown could thrive in a situation where he takes the majority of the shots. Additionally, Prechious Achiuwa and James Wiseman are certainly both gone, leaving Brown as arguably the only option in the low post.

Hardaway would develop Brown into an NBA talent, much as he did with Achiuwa, who entered the season with little professional interest. Achiuwa is now a potential lottery pick, and with a skill set similar to Brown’s, Achiuwa’s projection would be favorable for Brown.

Cons

Memphis brought in a haul of premier recruits last season, headlined by Achiuwa, Wiseman, Boogie Ellis, and Lester Quinones. Unfortunately, all of that talent was likely not going to result in a tournament berth for the Tigers, as they were certainly on the outside of the field prior to the tournament’s cancellation.

Brown is, in all likelihood, a one-and-done recruit. Brown is going to be focused on developing his status as an NBA prospect, but winning meaningful games is also of importance for Brown in his only year of college ball. With Memphis’ current roster, I don’t think that there would be too many meaningful games for the Tigers.
