20. Anthony Lamb (Vermont)

Career stats: 16.4 ppg 6.5 rpg 1.7 apg

Since the start of the century, Vermont Basketball has been one of the top mid-major programs, consistently getting 20+ wins and winning a number of America East regular-season titles. They got even better since Lamb arrived four years ago, who has started almost every game since. The Catamounts won 59 of 64 conference regular-season battles and Lamb himself on Player of the Year twice, scoring over 21 ppg as a junior. One of the few national mid-major stars, Vermont hopes to find a way to replace Lamb’s production.

19. Jordan Ford (Saint Mary’s)

Career stats: 14.5 ppg 2.3 rpg 1.8 apg

After losing Jock Landale, Calvin Hermanson and Emmitt Naar, it looked as if Saint Mary’s were going to take a major step back. But in the two years since, Ford became one of the best scorers in the game, producing over 21 ppg on 40+% from deep. He had a number of big outings and performances, including a career-high 42 points against Pepperdine in the WCC Tournament, along with 17 points as a junior to beat Gonzaga to get the automatic bid. Ford singlehandedly kept the Gaels nationally relevant and it’ll be tough to see how Saint Mary’s operates without him going forward.

18. Jon Axel Gudmundsson (Davidson)

Career stats: 13.3 ppg 6.1 rpg 4.4 apg

One of the biggest stat-stuffers in the sport, Gudmundsson was a near triple-double threat every game he played. He showed that he can drop 25+ points, 10+ rebounds and 10+ assists and did get a triple-double against Rhode Island as a junior, the year he won Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. Even in a rough season as a team, the 6’5 guard still managed to be one of the best rebounders and passers in the league to keep them competitive.

17. John Mooney (Notre Dame)

Career stats: 10.5 ppg 8.2 rpg 1.0 apg

The past two seasons haven’t been great for the Irish but Mooney’s individual accomplishments deserve to stand on its own. He averaged a double-double each of the past two years, going for 16.2 ppg and 12.7 rpg (second in the NCAA) in 2019-20. He pulled down a double-double in 26 of 31 games, including a monster-performance of 28 points and 14 rebounds against Syracuse. The All-ACC big man was one of the best big men in the country who was let down a bit by his supporting cast.

16. Desmond Bane (TCU)

Career stats: 12.7 ppg 4.7 rpg 2.4 apg

Next to guard Alex Robinson, Bane was the biggest piece from the best run in TCU Basketball history. He was a starter on the team that finally made it back to the NCAA Tournament and led the team in scoring for the past two years. Bane was a two-time All-Big 12 athlete and is No. 3 all-time in points for the Horned Frogs (1,784) and first in three-pointers made (249 on 43%).
