NCAA Basketball: Ranking of top 100 senior players from 2019-20 season
15. TJ Haws (BYU)
Career stats: 14.3 ppg 2.9 rpg 4.5 apg
Part of the now-infamous “Lone Peak 3” group (Eric Mika and Nick Emery), Haws was the last man standing, having one of the best four-year careers in BYU program history. He literally was there for it all, playing in a program-record 133 straight games (all starts). The 6’4 point guard also ranks in the top-10 in points, assists and steals. Haws has had plenty of moments and accolades, including a pair of huge games in wins over No. 1 and 2 Gonzaga, while also hitting game-winning shots against both Saint Mary’s and Houston this season.
14. Kamar Baldwin (Butler)
Career stats: 14.7 ppg 4.5 rpg 2.7 apg
Baldwin’s name automatically isn’t up there among the best guards in the country (thanks to a couple of high-scorers also in the Big East) but few have a better all-around game than him. The 6’1 guard averaged 16.2 ppg in the past three seasons while adding plenty of rebounds and assists over the years. He’s also an outstanding defender, playing a big role in multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and All-Big East selections
13. Tre Tinkle (Oregon State)
Career stats: 17.7 ppg 7.0 rpg 3.0 apg
With the exception of a certain Oregon Duck, there hasn’t been a better player in the Pac-12 than Tinkle, who has scored at least 17.6 ppg in each of the past three seasons, all awarded with All-Pac 12 honors. He’s the definition of consistency, reaching in double figures in every single game of the past three years. Those points add up, now with the all-time scoring record for Oregon State Basketball (2,233 points), also good for top-10 all-time in the conference.
12. Zavier Simpson (Michigan)
Career stats: 7.3 ppg 3.3 rpg 4.6 apg
He got our attention by having Kareem’s “skyhook” shot but Simpson has evolved into being one of the best point guards in college. He was a starter on the runner-up Wolverines team in 2018 (10 points in the loss to Villanova) and developed into an assist-machine in the next two years, ranking 3rd nationally as a senior with 7.9 apg. Coach Howard couldn’t have asked for a better guard to start his college head coaching career.
11. Killian Tillie (Gonzaga)
Career stats: 9.5 ppg 4.6 rpg 1.4 apg
Injuries have played a huge part in Tillies’ career, missing games at some point in every season. But when he was on the court, the 6’10 French forward was one of the most skilled players in the game. He shot 44% from three-point range, played high-level defense and made a Sweet 16, Elite, national title game and another No. 1 seed this season. Few resumes can compare with Tillie’s from this past decade.
