Boston College gets Rider transfer Frederick Scott, makes Matt Haarms top 10

The Boston College Eagles are still trying to figure out the rest of their 2020-21 roster.  The Eagles have lost six players this offseason with Derryck Thornton, Nik Popovich, and Jared Hamilton having graduated. They also have lost Jarius Hamilton (Maryland) along with Julian Rischwain (San Francisco) and Chris Herren Jr. via transfers.

BC has filled up four of those spots with incoming freshman Dermarr Langford and Justin Vander Bean as well as a pair of grad transfers in Quinnipiac guard Rich Kelly and Rider forward Frederick Scott. Scott committed to the Eagles on April 10. Scott — who can play either the 3 or the 4 — is an excellent shooter, a good scorer, and a decent defensive rebounder. He has produced career averages of 12 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 46.8% from the field and 40% from long distance.

So, what will Boston College do with the two remaining scholarships? The Eagles could use depth in the frontcourt, for both now and the future, as well as another young wing. Two possible options are Purdue transfer Matt Haarms and Georgia Tech’s Evan Cole. BC made Haarms’ top 10 list on Saturday as well as Evan Cole’s final 11 schools.
