Let’s be honest here; it’s far too early for Miller’s seat to actually be too hot. That being said, Hoosiers fans are impatient with mediocrity, even if Miller is off to a much better start in Bloomington than Crean. This year’s squad was probably making the NCAA Tournament, but the cancellation means Miller is still looking for his first bit of postseason success with the Hoosiers.

The former Dayton coach had little trouble maintain success with the Flyers, but it’s a different animal in the Big Ten with this Indiana team. Indiana’s win total has improved in each of his three seasons, but they’ve yet to finish over .500 in Big Ten play. Again, Indiana is headed in the right direction, especially if Miller can keep bringing in high-level recruits. However, these results are going to need to happen in 2021 for Miller’s seat to cool down.

I don’t quite foresee a situation where Miller is fired next season, barring a total collapse by the team in the upcoming season. However, with a fanbase and program like Indiana, you just never know what could happen. Crean was fired just a year removed from his third Sweet Sixteen. Will Miller be able to build Indiana teams that challenge for deep Tournament runs on a yearly basis? Only time will tell.
