Justin Kier, Guard

Although an injury ended Kier season after just nine games, Justin Kier entered the trade portal likely hoping to exchange his George Mason Patriots threads for those of a more established and attention gathering program. Even after averaging just 9.6 points during an injury-plagued, nine-game stint this year, coaches see Kier as a valuable asset thanks to his offensive potential. During the season before, he averaged 14.5 per game, leading several schools to still extend offers to the former A10 Most Improved Player despite putting up unattractive numbers recently.

While his inability to shoot consistently held Kier back a bit while playing his first three years at George Mason, he seemed determined to keep his former woes a thing of the past before injuring himself, shooting a career-high 45.8% from beyond the arc while also increasing his free throw percentage from 76.9% to 84.6% from last year. Kier’s best game came during a victory against La Salle during early December where he tallied 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a blocked shot.

With his struggles now apparently behind him, it makes sense for Kier to move on from George Mason as well and test out the field. However, Kier stated that he still sees a return to his old team as a potential option for next year, so hold off on ruling out a fifth straight season for him as a Bulldog at least for now.
