Drew Buggs, Guard

Although sunny Hawaii might sound nice to you right now, Rainbow Warriors guard Drew Buggs felt otherwise when he entered the trade portal last month. Looking for a new opportunity, Buggs brings several skills to the table as he continues to draw attention from several big-time basketball programs.

Playing 30 games this year, Buggs averaged 9.4. points, 5.4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per contest. Thanks to his impressive court vision, Buggs earned the Big West’s assist title for the second straight year, even notching a 12 and 12 game during a late January bout against UC Santa Barbara.

Bugg’s memorable 2019-2020 campaign also saw him blossom even further into a team leader, as they turned to him quite often during key game moments. Most notably, Buggs hit a dagger, double-clutch layup to seal a victory against the University of Texas-El Paso.

Beyond that, Buggs’s speed and skill around the basket make him an immediate offensive fast break threat, promoting him as a useful tool any team might wish to acquire. However, as he continues to primarily draw interest mainly from teams such as Wichita State, Oregon, California, Colorado State, and San Diego State, it appears Buggs appears likely to stay out West once moving inland.

Whether coming off the bench or sliding into a starting role, Buggs seems destined to excite no matter where he lands.
