7. Remy Martin – Arizona State Sun Devils

It’s been an awesome offseason so far for Arizona State Basketball. They landed Ohio State starting guard Luther Muhammad as a transfer, along with five-star shooting guard Joshua Christopher for the upcoming season. The Sun Devils also brought in Portland State senior transfer Holland Woods, who’ll sit out next year before becoming the future starting point guard.

The hope for the team in the upcoming season is that Remy Martin is the starting point guard, coming off a team-leading 19.1 ppg and 4.1 apg this past season. His scoring took a major leap as a junior and the 6’0 guard got his name in the draft conversation. He still has some limitations when it comes to his size and athleticism, compared to the likes of a Ja Morant or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Still, if Martin did decide to go pro, he’d get a training camp invite and be a G League participant.

Considering what the Sun Devils would look like next season if both Martin and forward Romello White returns, I would say that coming back for another year would be in everyone’s best interest. Sometimes, being on a top-10 caliber team and making a potential run in the NCAA Tournament would be a nice boost to a player’s individual stock. Martin could find himself on the national radar with a big senior campaign for a winning team.
