NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top class of 2020 recruits from all 50 states

Kentucky: JJ Traynor, Bardstown; Alex Matthews, John Hardin (Elizabethtown)

JJ Traynor had a terrific senior season as he was named the state’s Maxpreps POY by producing 20.2 points and 11.2 rebounds a game. He shot 51.9% from the field along with 33% from the 3-point line while leading Bardstown to a 22-9 record. The 6-8 forward has signed with Louisville. Alex Mathews averaged 23.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game this past season, leading John Hardin to a 30-4 record and the 5th Region Tournament semifinals. The 6-5 wing totaled 1,746 points, and 1,101 rebounds for his prep career. Mathews, the Gatorade POY for Kentucky, future plans are unknown.

Louisiana: Reece Beekman,  Scotlandville (Baton Rouge)

Reece Beekman was absolutely amazing this past season, registering 19.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 9.2 assists, 2.7 blocks and 2.3 steals while helping Scotlandville to the Division I state semifinals. The 6-3 guard also posted 13 double-doubles in 2019-20 and finished his career with 2,220 points, 949 rebounds, and along with 927 assists. The four-star point guard is headed to Virginia.

Maine: Bryce Lausier, Hampden

Bryce Lausier led the Braves to a 21-1 record, and the Class A state championship as the 6-5 guard averaged  26.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.9 steals. Lausier will continue his playing career at Division Ii- St. Anselm College in Goffstown, NH.

Maryland: Hunter Dickinson, DeMatha (Hyattsville)

Hunter Dickinson averaged 18.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game as he led the Stags to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regulars season and tournament titles. The consensus four-star recruit has signed with Michigan.

Massachusetts: Dallion Johnson, Phillips Academy (Andover)

Dallion Johnson averaged 22.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while leading the Big Blue to the NEPSAC Class A Tournament semifinals. The Penn State signee finished his prep career with 1600 points.

Minnesota: Jalen Suggs, Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis)

Jalen Suggs was named a finalist for the 2020 Naismith Prep Player of the Year award after averaging 23.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.9 steals. He led the Redhawks to a 24-3 record and a berth in the Section 4-AAA Tournament championship game. The 6-4 guard finished his prep career with  2,915 points, 881 rebounds, 727 assists, and 507 steals. Suggs, who was also Minnesota’s Football Gatorade Player of the Year, has signed with Gonzaga.
