ACC Basketball: Pitt makes finalist of two top prospects, Duke scheduling
Boston College becomes latest to offer Eduardo Andre, Aundre Polk
The Boston College Eagles are in need of adding a big body or two. The Eagles have apparently missed out on Purdue transfer Matt Haarms as well as Georgia Tech’s Evan Cole. Haarms recently trimmed his list from 10 to three and is now only considering Kentucky, Texas Tech, and BYU.
So, now BC can turn its attention to Eduardo Andre. The three-plus star Tucson (AZ) native holds offers from Auburn, South Florida, Mississippi State, Houston, Illinois, and Texas A&M. He also has been in communication with Ole Miss, Seton Hall, and Vanderbilt. However, BC has been one of three programs that have been consistently in contact with the athletic 6-10 center.
“I like the coach’s system and the way they use their bigs,” Andre told Josh Gershon of 247Sports about Boston College. “They play four out, one in and run sets through the bigs. It’s the ACC, so it’s a great conference. They play tough teams all year round.”
Andre is a raw prospect and is not expected to come in and contribute right away at BC if that is the route he chooses. He is pretty raw, having just started playing hoops at the age of 15, with plenty of upside, however. Andre averaged 10.3 points, 9.8 caroms, and 3.9 blocks this past season at Wilson High School in Dallas.
Boston College has two scholarships left in 2020. The Eagles are also reportedly interested in 6-8 power forward Aundre Polk (Detroit) and Philippines ‘ native Kai Soto, who is expected to pursue professional options.
