Georgia Bulldogs

Even without star freshman Anthony Edwards and some key rotation players, things could be looking up for Georgia Basketball next year. They return Sahvir Wheeler and Toumani Camara for their sophomore season and have a very good incoming recruiting class, including four-star commits Josh Taylor and K.D. Johnson, along with top-10 JUCO prospects Jonathan Ned and Mikal Starks.

The Bulldogs aren’t done yet, as not only are they involved with Santos-Silva, they also are a finalist for George Mason grad transfer Justin Kier, who averaged 14.5 ppg and 6.5 apg in his last full season as a junior. But there’s an elephant in the room in what forward Rayshaun Hammonds decides to do.

The 6’9 forward averaged 12.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg as a junior and entered the NBA Draft recently. He’s not a guaranteed draftable player and could very well return but that shouldn’t have a negative effect on Santos-Silva, as the Bulldogs could use the extra depth in the frontcourt.

And unlike the potential pairing of White and Santos-Silva at Arizona State, the VCU grad transfer and Hammonds would be a much better fit. The Georgia forward shot 36/103 (35%) from three-point range and has continued to develop his outside shot. And having Santos-Silva play the center position would allow Hammonds to play at the power forward spot, which is much better for his pro prospects. This could be a very nice situation for all involved if it were to happen.
