2012 – Tyler Zeller, 1 UNC vs 13 Ohio, Sweet 16

The Tar Heels ended Ohio’s Cinderella run thanks in large part to a 20-point, 22-rebound, four-block outing from Zeller, arguably his best performance of his career.

2012 – Anthony Davis, 1 Kentucky vs 2 Kansas, National Championship

The numbers don’t completely tell the story here. Davis had an unbelievable command of this guy despite scoring just six points on 1-12 (!) shooting. Despite the low scoring numbers, he still had 16 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and six blocks, all team highs. These Wildcats were dominant all year long, and Davis was the fulcrum of their team.

2013 – Khalif Wyatt, 9 Temple vs 8 NC State, 1st Round

Although the more impressive performance was the loss in the second round to number one overall seed Indiana (31 points, 12-24 from the field), Wyatt had an old-school playing style that led to buckets whenever he wanted. The 31-point effort vs NC State was no different.

2013 – Luke Hancock, 1 Louisville vs 4 Michigan, National Championship

Spike Albrecht was the unexpected star of the first half, but Luke Hancock took over that mantle in the second half. He scored 22 points off the bench on a perfect 5-5 mark from downtown to lead Louisville to a national title.

2013 – Trey Burke, 4 Michigan vs 1 Kansas, Sweet 16

The numbers were great (23 points and 10 assists), but this is all you really need to see.
