NCAA Tournament: 50 biggest individual game performances from 2010-19
By Logan Butts
2015 – Frank Kaminsky, 1 Wisconsin vs 2 Arizona, Elite Eight
The win against undefeated Kentucky was more exciting, but Frank the Tank and his partner-in-crime Sam Dekker showed out in the previous round against Arizona. Kaminsky had 29 and 6 while Dekker had 27 and 5 while taking out a strong Arizona squad.
2015 – Tyus Jones, 1 Duke vs 1 Wisconsin, National Championship
As a Duke fan, watching this game in person will be something I’ll never forget. I can still vividly remember the celebrations from Tyus as he hit one clutch shot after another. He and Grayson Allen saved that title for the Blue Devils. Jones especially, who had a game-high 23 points on 7-13 shooting.
2015 – Karl-Anthony Towns, 1 Kentucky vs 3 Notre Dame, Elite Eight
Before the undefeated season came to an end a round later, Kentucky found themselves in a battle with a really good Notre Dame team. KAT was the reason UK was able to keep the dream season alive. He scored 25 points (the only player on his team above 10) on an absurdly efficient 10-13 shooting and made the game-winning play on defense.
2015 – RJ Hunter, 14 Georgia State vs 3 Baylor, 1st Round
This is one of my favorite March Madness moments ever. It’s all right here.
2016 – Thomas Walkup, 14 Stephen F. Austin vs 3 West Virginia, 1st Round
Another one of my personal favorite performances, Walkup did a little bit of everything in Stephen F. Austin’s first-round upset of West Virginia. He had 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals, and one block, all team highs. He also shot a truly absurd 19-20 from the free throw line. I still maintain that the Lumberjacks were robbed against Notre Dame in the second round.
