Efton Reid

The Wildcats reached out to Efton Reid this past Wednesday. Reid, who said that reclassifying was a possibility back in December, currently holds more than 25 offers. If the Cats are to come close to securing his commitment, they have a lot of work to make up as they entered into the foray not that long ago. The consensus five-star recruit is ranked among the top 30 prospects by all four primary recruiting services with ESPN having him rated the highest at No. 14 while both 247Sports and Rivals list him at No. 27 in their rankings.

Reid has done virtual visits with NC State, Ohio State as well as Louisville, among others. The Richmond (VA) native also told Rivals’ Clint Jackson that he recently had a zoom meeting with Virginia’s Tony Bennett. Additionally, Reid has also been in touch with Miami, Michigan, Louisville, Wake Forest, Georgetown, and North Carolina.

The following is a scouting report from 247ports’ Director of Scouting Jerry Meyer.

"“Has NBA center size,  Game is skill based and not athletically based. Has good footwork and touch in post. Can stretch defense to three-point line. Comfortable with the ball as a passer. Has good hands and rebounds his area. Not a big shot blocker. Positional defender inside. Needs to improve quickness to defend on perimeter."
