8. Central Florida Knights

Key Losses: Dazon Ingram, Matt Milon

Key Returners: Collin Smith (?), Darian Green (?), Cesear DeJesus

Potential Impact Newcomer: Darius Perry

Breakout Candidate: Dre Fuller Jr

Central Florida lost a lot of talent two seasons ago so last season was a bit of a rebuilding year. The Knights are going to need to hope they have both Collin Smith and Darian Green for next season or it’s going to be an extremely difficult year. Both Smith and Green have entered the draft waters but are maintaining their eligibility throughout the process.

Dawkins had a good pickup this offseason already with the acquisition of Louisville guard Darius Perry. Perry started 26 games for Louisville last season and will be a huge boost to the Knights backcourt. Dawkins has proved he can put a winner out on the court and he’ll have some good pieces for next season.

Dre Fuller appeared in only 20 games for the Knights last season and showed some real flashes, he had double-digit points in seven of those appearances. He’ll be looking to make that sophomore jump, a potential big impact player for UCF.

Central Florida has some intriguing pieces for next season, they can easily improve on that 7-11 record in conference play from last season. Central Florida quietly has a pretty good roster.
