Arizona Wildcats: Brandon Williams

The limb in question is 6’2 Brandon Williams‘ right leg or knee to be precise. During his freshman year, he averaged eleven points over three assists and just under 3 rebounds while logging almost 30 minutes per game. Williams’ season was disrupted with knee pain, as a result, he missed six games in February. Upon his return to the lineup, his minutes dropped to 21 per game as his points fell to under nine. The start of his sophomore season never actually got started, as he had knee surgery that would cause him to miss all of 2019-20.

With this in mind, I would love to use Jemari Baker Jr as a backup selection just in case Williams suffers knee issues once again. With the number of departures from Arizona Basketball, both are set to see an increase in touches and responsibility.

The Arizona Wildcats are looking a little bit like the Kentucky Wildcats as freshmen; Zeke Nnaj (16 PPG) Nico Mannion, (14 PPG), and Josh Green have all declared for the NBA Draft and are ranked 34,14 and 21 by ESPN.

Coach Sean Miller loves to attack the zone offensively, but in his man motion, the scoring options begin and finish with the point guard. Coach Miller uses the bigs to set high screens for his point guard, taking them out of scoring range to allow the two and three-man to hit the backdoor for scoring opportunities. With the ball in his hands, a healthy Brandon Williams will fulfill the increased role he was to have as a sophomore and will easily achieve the stats of second-team All-Pac 12 member Jonah Mathews.
