Vermont Catamounts – Anthony Lamb

There are few teams in college basketball that have been more dominant in their conference than the Vermont Catamounts have been in the America East over the last decade. Over the last four seasons, they have four regular-season titles, three trips to the tournament finals, with two titles, and were looking for a third last season when games came to a grinding halt. Gone from those teams are the two-time defending America East Player of the Year, Anthony Lamb.

The 6-6 Lamb led John Becker’s Catamounts in points (16.7), rebounds (7.1), and is 2.5 assists per game was second on the team by 0.1 per game. It is unlikely one player will replace everything that Lamb did for Vermont, but a guy that could step up in a big way next season is junior forward Ryan Davis. Davis is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year in the America East, with some openings in the Catamounts’ starting line up next season, Davis may take another step forward from the 9.5 points and 4.4 rebounds he averaged last season.

At 6-8 and 250lbs. Davis shot 53% from the field and being more of a focal point of the Vermont offense, Davis is a good candidate to be the next Catamount to be the next big man on campus in Burlington.
