Notre Dame Fighting Irish

This option may not make much sense, considering that the perimeter isn’t of huge need for the Irish for the next couple of seasons. They have leading guard Prentiss Hubb, along with off-guards Ryan Cormack, Robby Carmody, Dane Goodwin and Santa Clara sit-out transfer Trey Wertz. As I’ve said with Dayton, the frontcourt market is thin overall and with two scholarships free to use, they should be targeting some of the best players available.

The reason why I like Eastern for the Irish is that he presents something different from what they currently have. There are a lot of shooters who play average-at-best defense and aren’t good passers. The Purdue wing can have a similar passing impact as former Irish wing Rex Pflueger and would be a defensive upgrade to deal with the pro prospects all over the ACC.

Providence Friars

Another program who fits Eastern’s current skills would be the Friars, who are moving on from their All-Big East combo forward Alpha Diallo. They’ve been successful in the transfer market, adding Syracuse guard Brycen Goodine this offseason and having St. Joe’s guard Jared Bynum waiting in the wings.

Providence should be proactive and have a wing available to play in case either David Duke or AJ Reeves goes pro in the offseason. The Friars are pretty much set everywhere else on the roster and Eastern would be a good fit for them in their quest to stay in the top-tier of the Big East.
