University of Central Florida

Johnny Dawkins’ UCF squad got off to a strong start last year before fading down the stretch and finishing eighth in the AAC with a 16-14 record.

UCF is pretty clearly the worst team on Weaver’s list, but the Florida native may be looking for a chance to return to his home state, and Central Florida’s campus is only 36 miles away from his home town of Cocoa.

Additionally, UCF will lose three of their top scoring guards; Ceasar DeJesus, Dazon Ingram, and Brandon Mahan in the next two years, paving the way for Weaver to step into a starting role right away.

He’ll likely be paired with Darin Green, Jr., a freshman last year who was second on the team with 10.1 points per game.

UCF’s two incoming recruiting classes offer little in guard play, with six-foot-six three-star Isaiah Adams listed as a small forward, and the class of 2021 not offering much promise, at least at this point.

UCF would almost certainly get the most out of Weaver on the basketball court, as he is a near-lock to start for them in both of his seasons of eligibility.

However, playing for an average mid-major squad, even if it’s in his backyard, may not be as appealing to Weaver as the option to play for an SEC school with an elite incoming recruiting class, or perhaps the best mid-major program not named Gonzaga in the country – two options we will explore next:
