My Prediction for Anthony Nelson at Manhattan

While I think the logjam at guard will be a problem for Nelson, he has the ability to prove himself worthy of playing time. He’ll struggle a bit adjusting as most sit out transfers do but eventually become a quality starter or sixth man for the Jaspers by the end of his junior year.

For his senior season, I believe Nelson will be handed the keys to the offense. He’ll thrive due to a high usage rate and playing a significant amount of minutes being played, but the Jaspers will be average to below average in the MAAC. Nelson could be an All-MAAC candidate depending on how consistent he is and how well the Jaspers do.

In terms of the shooting and turnover problems, I believe that with more playing time Nelson will settle in and lower his turnover percentage. However, his shooting is a different story. For Nelson to truly become a star, he needs to shoot with much more consistency, and that remains to be seen.

If I have to give a prediction for Nelson’s statistics at Manhattan, he would average around eight points and three assists next season, and about 12.5 points and 4.5 assists his senior season, due to an uptick in minutes and it being his second season with the Jaspers.
