Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Steve Forbes has been the new coach at Wake Forest for a mere couple of weeks and he’s already active in the portal looking to build the program. The Demon Deacons have already lost Olivier Sarr and Chaundee Brown to Kentucky and Michigan and leading scorer Brandon Childress graduated.

The ACC could be intriguing and it’s actually the closest of his listed schools to his home of Gate City Virginia. Forbes will need some time to put together a team so if McClung sits out this next season, the Wake roster might look completely different.

Wake Forest is still a few years away from being relevant in the ACC and that might be a big turn off for McClung but Forbes had to have sparked McClung’s interest since he included Wake in his final seven.

The Demon Deacons only have two freshmen coming in for this next season, their recruiting class is the worst in the ACC for 2020.  The roster needs a little bit of work and Forbes has a tough rebuild on his hands but. I think he can make Wake Forest competitive. McClung could be that spark for the rebuild, he’d be the go-to scorer and he’d probably get his chance to run the point.
