Cincinnati Bearcats

One player who I think has a similar style to Figueroa is Jarron Cumberland, a former AAC Player of the Year who has been the star of the Bearcats for the past few seasons, averaging 15.5 ppg and 4.9 apg this past season. He’s gone, along with big man Tre Scott and brother Jaevin Cumberland. This team did bring in a pair of transfer already this offseason, including Colgate grad transfer forward Rapolas Ivanauskas and Michigan sit-out newcomer David Dejulius.

There will be potential landing spots where Figueroa will slide in as a role player but he could very well be a star with Cincy in a similar way. They don’t have a clear-cut lead facilitator for next season and the former Red Storm guard is an underrated passer himself. While the Bearcats won’t be the most prestigious team that could contact Figueroa but they may have one of the best opportunities to provide.

Creighton Bluejays

One team who was set to be in the preseason top-10 next year would’ve been Creighton until leading scorer and “3 and D” player Ty-Shon Alexander opted to leave for the NBA Draft this offseason. The team still has plenty of offense leftover, including guards Mitchell Ballock and Marcus Zegarowski.

Still, Alexander’s departure lowers the overall ceiling of the Bluejays for next season and with multiple key players heading into their last year in college, could use Figueroa as a nice replacement to have them back as a national title contender. And there’s familiarity thanks to the Big East connection as well. That’s if, of course, a waiver can be given.
