6. AAC Basketball recruit rankings – Tari Eason (Cincinnati)

With 6’8 Tre Scott (11.4 PPG, 10.5 RPG) playing the 2019-20 season as a senior and 7’1 Chris Vogt (11 PPG, 6 RPG) looking to test the NBA Draft waters, Coach John Brennan made sure to recruit some reinforcements in the frontcourt with 6’8 Tari Eason from Garfield High School. Listed as the fourth-ranked player out of Washington by MaxPreps, if the four-star power forward can add 10-15 pounds his game will translate flawlessly to the collegiate level.

Coach Brennan can really switch up his roster in comparison to what he saw during the 2019-20 season. Keith Williams logged a fair share of minutes at small forward, who will now be able to shift to the backcourt with the graduation of Jarron Cumberland. This is important for Eason as 6’10 grad transfer Rapolas Ivanauskas (13.1 PPG, 7.6 RPG) from Colorado looks primed to take the power forward starting spot.

Eason’s biggest asset is on the defensive end where he has proven to be able to guard multiple positions while still being able to be a rim protector due to his athletism when defending down low and clogging the passing lanes when guarding up top.

If center Vogt does return for his senior season, look for the Bearcats to improve on their middle-of-the-road defense, which might be the deciding factor of them becoming outright AAC regular-season champions.
