NCAA Basketball finalist for Moussa Cisse – Florida State Seminoles

Leonard Hamilton has gained a reputation for being an incredible developmental coach and the Seminoles expect to be in the thick of the ACC action again this season. A lot of that falls on the deep rotation Florida State has utilized in recent years, but the biggest reason is the arrival of 5-star point forward and all-around playmaker Scottie Barnes. It’s not hard to see why Barnes will be a huge aspect of this team’s success, but guys have consistently and unexpectedly emerge for the Noles. In a crowded and deep rotation, there’s no reason it couldn’t be Cisse despite his class ranking.

Florida State is a long, tough, defensive-minded team that perfectly fits the capabilities and strengths of his game. The Seminoles are also the only school he went on an official visit to, but picking them does not come without questions. Centers have not thrived offensively under Hamilton as well as guards and wings have, however interior defenders of recent teams are of a much different mold than Cisse. In fact, he could be the most athletic center the program has ever had.

The thought of Barnes’ prolific offensive ability helping to ease the difficulties Cisse could encounter in a more traditional system should be nightmarish for defenses. However, the focus of developing his post and offensive game is unlikely to be a priority with Barnes being the primary option. Given the deep rotation Hamilton utilizes, Cisse is going to have to be much more efficient to catch the eyes of scouts after only one year in college.
