Pac-12 Basketball: 3 biggest storylines of 2020 offseason
Pac-12 Basketball landed a few of the nation’s top prospects and put together an impressive recruiting class.
The USC Trojans landed five-star recruit Evan Mobley, the highest-ranked prospect in the 2020 class for the Pac-12. The Trojans had somewhat of an unpredictable season but were projected to make their third NCAA tournament last March. The Trojans ended up with the No. 56 ranked recruiting class, adding Mobley and three-star prospect Boubacar Coulibaly. USC may very well find themselves fighting for first place in the Pac-12 and yet another tournament berth next year.
The Stanford Cardinal landed five-star recruit Ziaire Williams, who is expected to make a huge impact his freshman year, playing alongside returning players Oscar Da Silva and Daejon Davis. With the No. 16 ranked recruiting class, expectations are high for Stanford this upcoming season. After struggling to remain on the right side of the NCAA tournament bubble in March, the Cardinal are projected to be serious Pac-12 contenders.
The Arizona State Sun Devils continued to take steps in the right direction after landing Joshua Christopher, another top five-star recruit. Christopher will make his way to Arizona State and play with brother Caleb Christopher this season. With the addition of Christopher and four-star prospect Marcus Bagley, the Sun Devils have put together the No. 38 rated recruiting class, the highest-ranked class in nation with just two signees.
Even without the addition of some of the most talked-about prospects, the Arizona Wildcats and Utah Utes also put together impressive recruiting classes. Arizona’s six-player class is ranked No. 5. The Utah Utes who also welcomed four incoming players are close behind Arizona State at No. 42.
