NCAA Basketball option for Jaylen Warley – Maryland Terrapins

Mark Turgeon is looking to reload the Maryland program in any way he can. The exodus of players from the team this offseason has left holes to fill all over the roster. The Terps are already on the board with shooting guard Ike Cornish and forward Jaylen Reese in the 2021 class but are not in the running for a lot of other players at this time.

The addition of Warley would be a big victory for the Terrapins towards a comeback bid. Guards Eric Ayala and Marcus Dockery are the only likely holdovers from the 2020 backcourt putting Warley in a prime position to lead the offense from the get-go. His effectiveness as an initiator is something the 2020 team could be missing without Anthony Cowan.

Warley’s preference for downhill movement strongly compliments the shooting tendencies of Ayala, Donta Scott and Boston College transfer Jairus Hamilton. His potential defensive impact would also be an aspect Maryland guards have not exhibited over the last several seasons. He could easily be a standout player for the Terps in his freshman season and at the program closest to home.
