NCAA Basketball option for Jaylen Warley – Oregon Ducks

Dana Altman’s squad carried over their momentum from their 2018 Sweet 16 run to secure the 2019 Pac-12 regular-season title. Senior point guard Payton Pritchard’s late-game heroics were a large part of that effort, but this roster is extremely talented moving forward. Pritchard was a complete leader on the floor, but the Ducks shared the ball extremely well and were very disruptive on the defensive end producing steals.

The baton will be passed to talented freshman Jalen Terry to carry the load as the team’s primary facilitator in 2020. However, a lot of the supporting cast will depart prior to the 2021 season freeing up tons of room for Warley to immediately impact the offense. His best characteristics, defensive production, and offensive initiation will help to buoy a young roster to compete within the conference.

Altman’s current recruiting priorities aim to bolster the roster’s frontcourt depth and suggest Warley’s offensive opportunities will not be limited by the addition(s) of top backcourt talent. His skills are also likely to increase Oregon’s frequency of reaching the free throw line and staying competitive on the glass. Warley’s fit with the Ducks and likelihood of contributing early and impactful minutes is very strong.
