Men of Mackey vs Heartfire

Heartfire, a team set up by the legendary Homer Drew is also in this for the right reasons. Please read more about them on this link, but they are essentially an organization looking to change the world by transforming the lives of young people and showing them just how important their influence is.

This is going to be a tough matchup for the Men of Mackey. Heartfire is led by the 7’2 former Baylor All-American Isaiah Austin, who already has a lot of experience in TBT with a run to last year’s championship with Loyalty is Love. Here is a look at the current roster below. There’s a bunch of familiar names on this team.

Isaiah Austin 7’2- Baylor

Brandon Wood 6’3- Michigan State

Kristian Doolittle 6’7- Oklahoma

Jordan Adams 6’5- UCLA

Tweety Carter 5’11- Baylor

Branden Dawson 6’7- Michigan State

Dominque Johnson 6’4- Pacific

Mark Lyons 6’1- Arizona

Quincy Miller 6’11- Baylor

Larry Owens 6’7- Oral Roberts

This is a stellar unit full of previous high-level college basketball players and many of them enjoying good professional careers. The two ex-Baylor big men- Austin and the 6’11 Quincy Miller- are going to be an absolute handful in the post for any team in this tournament, and the guard combo of Brandon Wood, Jordan Adams, and Tweety Carter have seen great experience overseas. I like this team but, but I think the match up with the Men of Mackey is still going to be a good one.
