Arizona Wildcats

Between the start of the offseason and now, head coach Sean Miller has done a good job reloading the roster. It includes some guard grad transfers, along with several international prospects. The key names in this situation are four-star center Daniel Batcho, as well as top-60 power forward Azuolas Tubelis. International players are always unknowns but Tubelis is considered to the best foreign freshman in all of NCAA Basketball for next season.

Add that to frontcourt veterans Ira Lee, Christian Koloko, and redshirt sophomore forward Jordan Brown, and you have a lot of depth for Tchikou to compete with. However, it’s a lot of unproven depth, making it a real competition for playing time for all involved. But Arizona has an advantage since the Frenchman has been playing in the state of Arizona since arriving in the United States.

Florida State Seminoles

With Moussa Cisse still in consideration, the Seminoles may get their big man pick up no matter what happens. Tchikou may be a more realistic target and one that would benefit the program for at least a couple of years. Big men have done well in Coach Leonard Hamilton’s system, including most recently Mfiondu Kabengele, who ended up being a 2019 1st round pick in the NBA Draft.

As far as the current big men go for Florida State, Raiquan Gray is the projected starter, unless former top-50 forward prospect Balsa Koprivica overtakes him as a starter. This team will utilize it’s depth, either way, so Tchikou can develop slowly as a freshman, while still having a decent role for the Seminoles next season.
