St. John’s Red Storm

A team that could really use another frontcourt addition, St. John’s currently relies on George Washington grad transfer Arnaldo Toro, along with Josh Roberts and Marcellus Earlington for the upcoming season. On paper, that group would rank towards the bottom in the Big East, giving Tchikou a clear path to a starting spot if he chooses the Red Storm.

It’s a win-win move, with the prospect getting the opportunity he desires to play a fair amount as a freshman, while the team adds a legit frontcourt presence for next season to help replace departing leading scorer LJ Figueroa.

USC Trojans

The Trojans have added five transfers this offseason, with three of them eligible to play for next season. One of them, Long Beach State transfer Joshua Morgan, will need a waiver to play or will have to sit out. That leaves three-star center Boubacar Coulibaly, along with sophomore big man Isaiah Mobley, and most notably, incoming five-star prospect Evan Mobley.

If Tchikou joins USC, he’d have to play behind the freshman Mobley but would have a much bigger role in year two. With so much unproven talent on the roster, this recruit would fit right in on the roster. While Coach Enfield has struggled to win at a high level, he has done well with developing talent to become eventual NBA draftees, with Onyeka Okongwu being a good example from this past season.
