10. Danny Kaspar – Texas State (2013-2020)

Well before he took over the Bobcats in 2013, Kaspar had already put together quite a head coaching career. He had spent nearly a decade at Incarnate Word before they joined D1 and had done marvelous work building Stephen F. Austin. Kaspar put the pieces in place for the Lumberjacks’ recent success, winning four regular-season titles in the last six seasons. He moved onto Texas State in 2013, right as the Bobcats joined the Sun Belt.

Another fresh team to the league, Texas State struggled initially, but Kaspar has actually a done good job with this program. By 2017, the Bobcats were a 22-win team that finished 3rd in the conference, ending their season in the CIT quarterfinals. In each of the last two seasons, they’ve tied for 2nd place and have made another postseason appearance. Texas State is 45-21 during that stretch and is clearly trending upwards.

Kaspar has Texas State primed to win its first Sun Belt title in the near future. Like at Stephen F. Austin, he’s slowly built this team into a conference contender, but only time will tell if he can have the same level of success. These Bobcats have played good basketball in recent years, just the latest success for a head coach with nearly 600 career wins.
