3. Ohio State Buckeyes

Chris Holtmann navigated his team almost flawlessly through the Buckeyes non-conference schedule last season. Ohio State mixed young talent with proven experience to make one of the most deadly teams in the nation. However, the majority of players the team relied on this season have departed the program in one way or another.

The Buckeyes are fortunate to have Cal transfer Justice Sueing eligible to play this season to pair with veteran guard CJ Walker in an effort to maintain any consistency from last season. Holtmann has already begun to heavily recruit the 2021 class to restore the talent from the 2019 roster. Combo guard Meechie Johnson has committed to the Buckeyes and comes at a major position of need.

The Buckeyes are still after several other guard prospects in the class, but there are plenty of minutes to currently share in the backcourt. Sharpshooter Duane Washington Jr. could be the only guard on the current roster to return for the 2021 season. Bufkin sharing duties with Johnson will do little to take away from his minutes or opportunities on the court.

Despite the chance for Bufkin to run a proven program in the Big Ten with hardly a minutes restriction, there are better options for him.
