Who would play for the Duke TBT team?

With no current NBA players, Duke would have to rely on some other players that have come through Durham and pursued other opportunities, or maybe some who have stopped playing basketball as a whole.

Here is a list of players I could see playing for the team of former Blue Devils in TBT:

More from Duke Blue Devils

These nine players would make for a VERY competitive team in The Basketball Tournament, despite being made up of mostly big men. A couple of these players like Justin Robinson, Javin DeLaurier, Jack White, and Antonio Vrankovic have graduated recently, while players like Hairston, Miles Plumlee, and Thornton graduated quite some time ago, and Jones and Marshall Plumlee are somewhere in the middle.

These are players who were never the star player for the Blue Devils, but started at one point or another, (with the exception of Vrankovic, Hairston, and Thornton) and played a big role on some great teams for the Duke Blue Devils.

There are some other players like Brennan Besser who were walk-ons at Duke and graduated recently who could fill roles as well, but they never really played a significant role for Duke and might not be as competitive of a player for Duke’s TBT team.

Overall, Duke has a ton of great options for their TBT team, should they make one, and they would undoubtedly be one of the most competitive teams at the annual “The Basketball Tournament.”

What do you think? What would Duke’s TBT team name be, who would fill the non-player roles, who would play on the team, and would they compete for the million-dollar prize? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter!
