Robby Carmody – Notre Dame

During his senior season at Mars High School, the 6’4 shooting guard averaged over 30 points, 14 rebounds, and four steals per game. Those stats earned him 2018 Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year, made him a 2018 Pennsylvania Mr. Basketball Finalist, landed him as the No.92 recruit on the final RSCI of 2018 (three spots ahead of Jared Butler), and garnered him offers from universities such as Maryland, Louisville, and Pittsburgh. Since joining Notre Dame Basketball as a freshman to begin the 2018-19 season, Carmody has played a total of 186 minutes in16 games over two years.

His freshman season was cut short due to a labrum tear in his left shoulder, then an ACL tear in his left knee ended his junior season. Prior to the injury, Carmody averaged 5.4 points (a two-point increase from the previous year) while averaging just under four field goals in 14 minutes per game.

Fellow 2018 class recruit Prentiss Hubb spent most of his time at point guard and with starting two-guard T.J Gibbs graduating, Carmody will begin the season splitting time with Dane Goodwin. Hopefully, the injuries do not take away his ability to get to the basket or reduces his verticle that he uses to finish above the rim.
