NCAA Basketball: Formerly injured players set for big impact in 2020-21
Anthony Harris – North Carolina
The 6’4 guard was recruited by Roy Williams and North Carolina Basketball as the No.70 recruit on the RSCI, 67 spots behind Cole Anthony. The fact that Harris was still recovering from an ACL he tore five months prior did not sway Coach Williams, nor did the fact that Harris had just withdrew his commitment from Virginia Tech seven days before committing to North Carolina.
Harris who is so dangerous leading the fast break for he can get to the hoop or hit the spot-up shooter. He was extremely efficient in his 12 minutes per game by connecting on 60 percent of his two-point field goals to average just under seven points per game. Despite his efficiency and very good Per-40 Minutes numbers, Harris only averaged 12 minutes per game in the five games he played because he was working himself back into game shape after returning from an ACL tear he suffered in high school.
The only good news for Harris was that the ACL he tore that cost him the rest of 2019-20 was in the opposite knee. At whatever point Harris returns during the 2020-21 season he will be able to fulfill what he was hoped upon doing last season and that is to replace Anthony Cole, except this time, Cole is not coming back.
