Arkansas Razorbacks

Houstan is just one of over a dozen five-star players being targeted by the Razorbacks but the small forward position is an important need for them in the 2021 class. Grad transfer pickups Justin Smith and Vance Jackson are only around for one year, leaving top-50 incoming freshman Mooses Moody as the lone capable player at that spot.

While Arkansas has been in the running seemingly for everyone this offseason, they haven’t landed that big fish yet in the Eric Musselman era. It’s hard to see Houstan being the coveted prospect the coaching focuses on but it wouldn’t be a shock to see them on his top-8 or 10 list out in the future.

Duke Blue Devils

When the news broke concerning the reclassifying, there was plenty of talk about this being of benefit to Duke more than any other team. Of course, that makes sense when it comes to top-10 overall players that the Blue Devils have a real interest in. Houstan would be just the latest five-star talent to join, with top-10 forward AJ Griffin having already committed in the 2021 class.

If Duke actually does land Houstan, it’s hard to imagine that they’ll be able to also land five-star recruit Pat Baldwin as well. So maybe Northwestern fans should root for this player, in particular, to end up with the Blue Devils. Of course, this decision would likely mean that both Jalen Johnson and Wendell Moore are going to be gone from the team no matter what after next season.
