NCAA Basketball: 15 undervalued players in 2020 recruiting class
By Ian Mumm
#61 KK Robinson, PG – Arkansas
The Razorbacks have reloaded on talent this summer, to the surprise of nobody. Eric Musselman has been the anointed ‘Transfer King,’ but this offseason he proved to be an equally dangerous recruiter of the high school ranks. Plucking Montverde Academy’s Moses Moody will prove to be very fruitful for the Arkansas program, once games are played this season. However, it will be his backcourt mate KK Robinson that has the potential to be overlooked and outperform his projection with the team.
Depending on the pending NBA Draft decision of Isaiah Joe, Robinson’s immediate role on this team could range from 6th-man to starter alongside Desi Sills and Moody. No matter the outcome, he can score in bunches and will be a valuable option for the Arkansas roster.
Robinson converted his perimeter attempts at 42.9% on Expressions on the EYBL circuit last summer and he may very well be the best 3-point shooter on the roster in 2020. His ability to consistently stretch the floor away from the interior of the defense and maintain lanes for Moody to penetrate will ensure this offense hums along in every matchup. His efficiency from the position will secure his impact for the team while maintaining focus through Moody and Sills.
The Razorbacks offense last year was incredibly balanced. With that likely to be the case again this season, Robinson should have plenty of room to comfortably shoot throughout the game. However, Robinson’s speed and ability to weave through traffic will make him an equally dangerous interior playmaker. Opposing defenses will have to decide the lesser evil of Robinson’s game to avoid letting Moody or Sills from putting them away instead.
