Atlantic 10 Basketball: Breakout candidates from each team for 2020-21

G, Sherif Kenney – La Salle

Sherif Kenney is La Salle’s breakout candidate for the 2020-21 season. Kenney will be going into his sophomore year at La Salle. He started five of the 26 games he played in for the Explorers and was a key consistent player off the bench last season.

Prior to La Salle, He attended both Brewster Academy in New Hampshire and Rock Creek Christian Academy in Maryland. Kenney also played his senior year at Orr Academy in Chicago, Illinois. Kenney was named Honorable Mention All-State selection by the Associated Press.

Last season, Sherif Kenney started in five games and averaged 7.8 points and 20.7 minutes off the bench. Kenney put up 19 points in 30 minutes in a tough loss against the Richmond Spiders. Sherif brings bring dynamic playmaking ability to the Explorers, which is desperately needed. He has already made an immediate impact on La Salle.

Sherif Kenney will breakout this upcoming season and continue to impact the Explorers on and off the court. Kenney will continue to improve and perform well for Ashley Howard’s Explorers. Sherif Kenney will take on a big leadership role this upcoming season and make a big impact on this team on and off the court.
