NCAA Basketball: Analyzing 2021 forward James Graham III top 9 teams
Wisconsin Badgers
The Badgers are a preseason projected top-10 team for next year, thanks in part to a number of rising seniors on the roster. The frontcourt is loaded with seniors, led by Aleem Ford, Micah Potter and, Nate Reuvers. All will be gone, but the team already has several talented prospects committed to replace them, including 2020 four-star forward Ben Carlson.
Then there are class of 2021 forward commits Matthew Mors and Chris Hodges. Both are comparable to Graham right now but if he continues to improve, could end up much higher ranked. Between the clear path to early playing time and being the other local in-state option, the Badgers could have a great chance to land the forward and continue building next year’s class.
Vanderbilt Commodores
With both Aaron Nesmith and Saban Lee going pro, the Commodores are going to have to rebuild throughout the roster. The frontcourt has bigger needs to address, with just rising sophomore forward Dylan Disu as the lone key returner. Three-star wing Myles Stute is coming in but expect the 2021 class to feature a forward to join point guard commit Peyton Daniels.
Of all nine options, Vanderbilt represents the best opportunity for immediate playing time for Graham and the most likely spot of a secure role on the team. But they’re going to need a lot more than just Graham to get out of the SEC basement. Will the prospect be willing to suffer “down” years just to guarantee to be on the floor?
Look for James Graham III to end up being a top-100 overall prospect in the final 2021 NCAA Basketball recruiting rankings. One of these nine programs will land a potential steal in the future, and if I had to make an early guess, I think the forward will end up either at Marquette or a school from the Big Ten.
