Kennesaw State – One victory in 2019-20

Everybody loves an underdog, and while Kennesaw State Basketball are actually Owls, there is no team better to love than a team that goes 0-16 in the Atlantic Sun Conference and 1-28 overall. That was no typo, the lone game Kennesaw State won was on Dec.12, 2019 when they ended their eight-game losing streak by defeating Gardner-Webb 85-61. Coach Amir Abdur-Rahim ran out just seven players with Tyler Hooker (27 points,7 assists), Ugo Obineke (19  points), and Bryson Lockley (17 points,12rebounds) leading the Owls to a victory while playing 40 minutes each. The bad news is only Obineke will be returning, but Coach Abdur-Rahim has enforcements arriving.

Having a full season to recruit, Coach Abdur-Rahim as managed to secure the third-best mid-major recruiting class. With the inclusion of three-star recruits; Chris Youngblood. Brandon Stroud and Kasen Jennings, the fans at the KSU Convocation Center might start believing in a return to the glory years between 2015 and 2017 when under Al Skinner they finished 7-7 two years in a row.

It should not be difficult to get behind a team that had not only finish in last place, but the closest team to them was NJIT who were 6-10. To make matters worse, they are losing their top two scorers. So, whether you love a good comeback story, or enjoy seeing others stepped on while they are down, everybody has a reason to root for Kennesaw State.
