Jhivvan Jackson – Close to all-time C-USA scorer

For any college basketball fan who prefers to throw their support and pay attention to proven winners, then Jhivvan Jackson is the story they need to be following this year. Not only is the six-foot guard on the brink of setting new records in Conference USA, but he also has the legitimate opportunity to pass some legendary NCAA names in the process. Having no prior knowledge of what feat Jackson holds dearest to his heart, let us begin the list with three-point field goals made.

After connecting on 35 percent of his three-point attempts during the 2019-20 season, Jackson upped his total to 302 made shots from beyond the arc over his three years playing for Texas San-Antonio. His 121 makes by years’ end landed him fifth on the all-time C-USA leader board, who began tallying three-pointers for the first time during the 1986-86 season. More impressive is that Jackson is just 55 made three-pointers from becoming the all-time C-USA leader. Even if one is to be conservative and projects he attempts 300 (43 fewer than last year), he only needs to shoot 18 percent from beyond the arc to set a new record.

A by-product of hitting a lot of three-point shots is the number of points one accumulates. Currently, Jackson sits at 2053 career points after his years of 534,663 and 856. In order to overtake Jon Elmore as the all-time leading scorer, Jackson needs 585. To take it a step further, Jackson needs 898 points to surpass Danny Manning for twelfth all-time and 920 to pass Oscar Robinson at number eleven all-time in NCAA history.
