Bruins . 19. team. 518. . .

Bruin fans had to wait until the last day to find out whether leading scorer Chris Smith would come back for his senior season. He is, which makes this team set to build off of its impressive second-half run from last year. As the team’s lone returning double-digit scorer and senior on the roster, the 6’9 guard/wing will have an important role for UCLA.

Outside of guard Prince Ali, the rest of the rotation returns as well. Considering that all of them were underclassmen, the extra season of experience operating in head coach Mick Cronin’s system will be of huge benefit. And while five-star guard Dashien Nix ended up with the G League instead of the Bruins this offseason, Kentucky transfer Johnny Juzang has already received a waiver and will play this upcoming season. The hope is that the 6’6 guard can add some needed three-point shooting to the team.

Some questions remain for UCLA such as the frontcourt depth after starters Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, as well as if Tyger Campbell can be the point guard needed for the team to take the next level. But this team has a very high ceiling if everything clicks and the underclassmen continue to improve. Having nearly an entire rotation come back can only be a good thing for them.
