Miami Hurricanes

Pros

The Hurricanes will be in huge need for a top guard, with leading scorer Chris Lykes set to graduate after next season. With Kameron McGusty also coming into his senior season, there won’t be a double-digit scorer on the current roster for the 2021-22 campaign. That presents a major opportunity for Warley to have a major role and impact as a freshman and like Lykes, for as long as he wants to with Miami.

He’ll have some good talent around him on the perimeter as well, including guards Harlond Beverly and Isaiah Wong, along with top-50 incoming wing Earl Timberlake. As of now though, the frontcourt doesn’t feature much offensive potential, which would allow the guards to put up gaudy numbers.

Cons

Besides Wong and Beverly, Warley will have some competition at lead guard with 2021 commit Bensley Joseph, a top-100 point guard who recently picked Miami over a week ago. Considering the number of holes and needs throughout the rest of the roster, point guard and shooting guard isn’t one of them. It certainly would be a great pickup but the Hurricanes would be better suited to add more bigs.

The other con is that unless Timberlake comes back for his sophomore year and the other guards take another step, Miami won’t be a projected 2022 NCAA Tournament team. Warley would be part of a rebuild, compared to the other five options that likely would have him dancing.
