Indiana State Basketball: In-depth look at sophomore forward Jake LaRavia

Expectations for Jake LaRavia in 2020-21

Indiana State is one of the teams who are going to have heightened expectations they have much of their roster back and the Missouri Valley always has a team improve greatly from one year to the next. The Sycamores have the making of that team as they have everything you need. Key has been mentioned as he is going to be paired with LaRavia in the backcourt.

The Sycamores have two huge grad transfers coming in both guards in Randy Miller from NC Central and TJ Miller from Towson. Both are going to provide a huge boost on both ends of the floor for the Sycamores.

Due to the depth at the guard position expect LaRavia to play more in the frontcourt. As was mentioned earlier he is athletic enough to play those positions and have a ton of success playing there. The sophomore was already all freshman and has the ability to take his place as a first-team all-conference player.

That may be a tall task with just the sheer talent in the league but if LaRavia has the break out that many who follow the conference think he can, and he raises his game to the next level he will be one of the best players in this conference.

Indiana State last made the NCAA tournament during the 2010-2011 season and they have yet to get over the hump since then. Head Coach Greg Lansing has his best team since arriving in Terre Haute and this team is a tournament team at least on paper.

The Sycamore fans are waiting to support a winner and they already fill the building. LaRavia and company are coming for the Valley crown and they are coming in with the mentality of the hunters to try and take down the hunted.
