Centers

Starter- Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (35 mins/game)

Other F/C hybrids- Eric Dixon (5 mins/game)

The reigning Big East Freshman of the Year is Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (10.5 Pts, 9.4 Reb, 1.9 Ast) and he enters his sophomore season as the favorite to be the Big East Player of the Year. Robinson Earl’s usage percentage was only 5th on the team last season meaning he was highly efficient in the midst of averaging nearly a double-double. Efficiency is the key for this kid, and for a big man, he’s Jay Wright’s dream, shooting 81% from the foul line and 50% on 2-point field goals.

While Robinson-Earl will see most of the minutes as the key cog of the frontcourt, Eric Dixon is potentially the surprise of the Big East. The local product and redshirt freshman is one of the most decorated high school basketball players in Pennsylvania in the last five years and spent his first single-season in West Philly practicing against Robinson Earl.

Coach Wright has had a lot of success with redshirts and this kid has the metrics to be special. At 6’8, 270 pounds people are going to be shocked by the agility, wingspan, and footwork. He’ll have a shot to get minutes in 2020-21, but once Robinson-Earl bolts for the league (more than likely after this season) Dixon is the heir apparent as the focal point in the post.

dark. Next. Big East POY candidates for 2020-21

There is no other way to put it, Villanova is blessed in the frontcourt. Even without Bey, Jay Wright has an embarrassment of riches upfront in Samuels, Swider, Cosby Roundtree, Robinson Earl and then you throw in the potential of Dixon. Pair that with a couple of Big East POY contenders in the backcourt in Gillespie and Moore and the Wildcats are set to win the Big East… AGAIN.

There is officially a dynasty on Broad Street.
