4. Creighton Bluejays

With rebuilding Nebraska currently out of the picture for top in-state players, this is the time for Creighton Basketball to take advantage. They’ve made a serious push for Sallis over the past months and has the benefit of coming off of the program’s best season since the Doug McDermott days.

The Bluejays offense was one of the best in the country last season, led by Ty-Shon Alexander, Mitchell Ballock, and Marcus Zegarowski. Alexander has departed for the NBA Draft after an all-conference campaign, while Zegarowski very likely could leave after next season if he has another big year as well.

Sallis could come in and play a huge role as a freshman, although he may have to play off the ball more alongside four-star point guard commit Ryan Nembhard, brother of Gonzaga guard Andrew Nembhard. The Bluejays offense is comfortable having multiple ball-handlers on the court and with a five-star recruit, can overtake Villanova as the class of the Big East.

If staying close to home plays into his decision in any way, then Creighton has a legit chance to land Sallis. But when blue bloods are involved, the lack of prestige this program has could hurt them in the final days of this process. For a guy who didn’t have the attention of any top-tier programs, maybe the Bluejays, who were one of the first to initially get involved, could sneak in and land a shocking commitment.
