Michigan Wolverines

Currently with the 5th best-recruiting class for 2021, Michigan has a trio of four-star perimeter players (Frankie Collins, Kobe Bufkin, and Isaiah Barnes), along with three-star stretch forward Will Tschetter.

They could use another forward star to replace Isaiah Livers and Franz Wagner after next season and he would be an excellent frontcourt duo for center Hunter Dickinson. There have been some rumors about head coach Juwan Howard possibly going back to the NBA but he already adamantly stated his desire to stay in college for the time being. If he stays, the program is in great shape to compete at a high level and would have a big need for Hopkins early on.

Oregon Ducks

After a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints, former class of 2019 top-50 forward recruit Issac Johnson will join the Ducks. He’s a modern-day stretch forward who’ll provide the kind of spacing in the frontcourt that the team didn’t experience last season, or likely this upcoming season.

Along with Johnson, the forwards on Oregon’s roster a year from now includes Luk Wur, Chandler Lawson, Duquesne transfer Eric Williams, Jr. and whichever transfer Coach Dana Altman picks up in the offseason as he typically does.

This is a group that Hopkins could compete for playing time with but as we’ve seen with plenty of others, you can fall out of the rotation very easily and end up transferring. Between that and traveling out west, the Ducks have some negative selling points as well for Hopkins to consider.
