7. Davidson Wildcats

The Davidson Wildcats disappointed many last seasons finishing at 7th-place. Their depth last season was very thin and with key injuries to Luke Frampton and KiShawn Pritchett it was not surprising that their hopes approaching March would end.

This season, Coach Bob McKillop will have to work without former Conference Co-Player of the Year Jon Axel Gudmundsson who recently graduated. McKillop will have to work with primer scorer Kellan Grady who has been somewhat forgotten because of a failure to becoming an NBA-ready player after his impressive freshman year. He managed to put up more than 17 points per game this past year, and now he’ll have a chance to truly star in a bigger role.

Hyungjung Lee was one of the Atlantic 10’s best freshmen, Carter Collins has evolved into a proven role player, Luke Frampton should be back to full health, and the incoming class is currently the highest-rated one in the conference (247Sports).

Davidson has the potential to be really dangerous this upcoming season if they remain healthy. This team is very young and even though the depth should be better moving forward, it’s still not spectacular, especially in the frontcourt. I can see Bob McKillop figuring things out and helping this team succeed this season but, he’s gonna need to do some more work.

I believe the Wildcats will finish in the middle-tier of the conference, however, I would not sleep on this young and hungry roster.
