Texas Tech Red Raiders

Depending on how the waivers go for a pair of transfers, Texas Tech’s backcourt will be absolutely loaded this upcoming season. Lead ball-handlers Jamarius Burton and Mac McClung cold join five-star combo guard Nimari Burnett, along with Kyler Edwards and Kevin McCullar, Jr. None of them are seniors, so Coleman could potentially have no chance of playing here as a freshman.

Yet, a number of them could leave after next season, giving the shooting guard a pathway. And the Red Raiders have thrived with perimeter-oriented shooters, including Jarrett Culver and last year’s leading scorer Jahmi’us Ramsey. This program is on the rise as a national contender and should be in play for any target but they’ll have trouble selling on immediate playing time for any 2021 guard.

UCF Knights

Double-digit scoring guard Darin Green Jr. will be back for his sophomore season after declaring for the NBA Draft but could very well leave if he has a big individual campaign. That would give a major opportunity for Coleman to come in and have a big impact as a freshman, joining Oregon transfer big man CJ Walker and big man Sean Mobley.

This is an under the radar local option for Coleman in the state of Florida and UCF has many appealing traits a prospect would consider. The lack of prestige of both the AAC and the Knights as a basketball program is probably the biggest detractor though.
