1. Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens

It’s a testament to the depth coach Martin Ingelsby has built that the Blue Hens could lose arguably their two most important players and still be a conference favorite. With Justyn Mutts transferring and Nate Darling keeping his name in the NBA Draft, it’s going to be an intriguing season for Delaware.

The senior guard tandem will lead Delaware through the departure wilderness. Former CAA Rookie of the Year Ryan Allen saw a slight downturn in his numbers last season, averaging 12.2 points per game. Nevertheless, he remains one of the most dangerous sharpshooters in the conference, with 212 career three-pointers to his name.

Kevin Anderson is holding down the other guard spot. He was named to the All-CAA Third Team last season after averaging 11.5 points per game. He’s also one of the better distributors in the conference, averaging 3.7 assists per game last season.

Reggie Gardner also becomes eligible for Delaware this season. The North Carolina Central transfer was forced to sit out last season. The guard averaged 5.8 points per game during the 2018-19 season.

dark. Next. SEC preseason power rankings

It has been several years since Delaware made the NCAA Tournament, with the last appearance coming in 2014. In what should be a wild and open CAA, this could be the year the Blue Hens make it back to the Big Dance.
